The UNSA Senate held on 30 January 2013 the regular sixth session with 10 agenda items.
In accordance with the conclusion of the UNSA Senate’s thematic session of 16 January 2013, Senators were presented with the draft of the UNSA Statute that has been harmonized with the Framework Law on Higher Education, as well as with those provisions of the Law on Higher Education in the Sarajevo Canton - Consolidated Text ("Sarajevo Canton Official Gazette ", No. 22/10), which are not in opposition to the Framework Law on Higher Education. Also a decision was made that UNSA member institutions should give their comments and suggestions, and have them submitted in form of amendment to the University of Sarajevo no later than 15 Feb. 2013.
Senators were presented with further activities regarding the University of Sarajevo’s institutional and academic accreditation, which include making the self-evaluation report for 2012.
Among other things at this session, consent was given for election into higher academic titles for 41 teachers from twelve higher education institutions, and decisions made for twenty candidates who are currently undergoing the process of acquiring a PhD from Science at eight higher education institutions.
The approval was given approval to stem area lists and their corresponding subjects of the UNSA Faculty of Health Studies, Faculty of Transport and Communication, Faculty of Forestry, and to the Music Academy regarding the fee for the study third cycle’s entrance exam.
Also, the Senate gave its consent to the signing of an Agreement on Academic Collaboration between the University of Sarajevo and the Turkish National Police Academy.
The Senate adopted the Report by the Commission for the Recognition of Foreign Higher Education Qualifications at the University of Sarajevo, as well as the one by the UNSA Publishing Council, upon which four university publications got approval for publishing.
