UNSA Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Celebrated Its 55th Anniversary

The UNSA Faculty of Mechanical Engineering celebrated its 55th Anniversary on Saturday 5 April 2014.

Pointing out important facts in Faculty’s history from the founding on 6 October 1958 to the preset date, the Faculty’s Dean, Prof. Dr. Ejub Dzaferovic, addressed the attendees and presented the Faculty’s plans for future. UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahic, D. h. c. also addressed the attendees and in his speech stressed the importance and role of the UNSA Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the development of B&H economy and society. On behalf of the first generation of students, Academician Vlatko Dolecek, former Dean addressed the attendees and in the course of his speech referring to the past 55 years of the Faculty.  The addresses by Prof. Dr. Ivan Jurag, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture University of Zagreb, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hrasnica, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Zeljko Stojkic, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Mostar, Prof. Dr. Denja Daut, Dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Mostar followed. On behalf of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, Prof. Dr. Sabahudin Ekinovic, addressed the present guests, while on behalf of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Banja Luka Prof. Dr. Milosav Djurdjevic made an address. Alija Bevrnja, student of the second cycle of studies’ first year and recipient of the UNSA Golden Badge for his success in the first year had the honor to address the attendees.

 During the ceremony, Dean, Prof. Dr. Ejub Dzaferovic presented Plaques to Faculties that have helped staffing the UNSA Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, former Faculty Deans and full professors, and Faculty’s employees who have spent more than twenty years working. For successful international cooperation, the Faculty awarded Plaques to the Embassy of the United States, Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, the Norwegian Embassy and the Embassy of Spain. Plaques were also presented to the USAID and UNDP organizations, and the TV Sarajevo.
