The UNSA Senate held its third thematic session On Wednesday 3 September 2014, during which Senators discussed the conditions for the realization of the teaching and research process at the University of Sarajevo in the 2014/2015 academic year.
The Senate gave its support at its 24th session of 16 July 2014 to the University Union and justified demands outlined in a letter addressed to the CS Government of 30 June 2014.
At today's session, the Senate noted that the payment of the remaining tranches created minimal conditions for continuing the teaching and research process in accordance with the University of Sarajevo’s academic calendar. At the same time, the Senate emphasizes the necessity of continuing social dialogue aimed at overcoming the strategic issues in the treatment of the University and higher education, in accordance with the commitments taken by the BiH when signing the Bologna Declaration and the commitments contained in the Framework Law on Higher Education.
The Senate emphasizes the importance of preserving the University’s unity and coordination in actions of the Union and all University bodies in the integration process, respect for institutional autonomy and creating conditions in which the University of Sarajevo can fulfill to its social role as a leading academic institution.
