IPA Doctoral Conference Organized

 

 

Doctoral Conference Organized by the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education Held

 

A doctoral conference entitled “Improving the assessment of postural state and spinal status– SpineLab” organized within the IPA Program’s cross-border cooperation between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was held at the premises of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 25 September 2014.

Prof. Dr. Faruk Mekic, UNSA Vice-Rector for Research and Prof. Dr. Nusret Smajlovic, Dean of the Faculty of ports and physical education opened the conference by delivering welcome addresses. Prof. Dr. Izet Radjo made an address on behalf of research and project teams. 
Project partners from Novi Sad, project manager, Prof. Dr. Dejan Mladic, Dean of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad and entire project and the research team from Novi Sad were present at the conference.

The project’s overall goal is improving detection and prevention of postural disorders, health problems of sensor-motor apparatus in children and young in two regions - of Srem and the City of Sarajevo.

The aim of the conference was to develop awareness among the wider public on the current state of the sensor-motor apparatus in children ages 5 to 12, the consequences that can affect the development and health. The conference also made proposals and recommendations for preventive and corrective actions to the negative trend observed in postural deformities and spinal stopped status and reduced the medically and socially acceptable limits.

At the doctoral conference were presented results of previous project activities that were related to the testing of children by diagnostic equipment in Sarajevo primary schools and kindergartens. For this purpose, was procured and used in the testing process, the latest equipment in order to obtain accurate and relevant indicators of the state of postural state and spinal status in children tested.

This project is being implemented by the UNSA Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, and the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sport and Physical Education.
