3rd Erasmus+ Meeting

 

 

The Third Erasmus + Program Meeting 

 

With the aim of providing a support to faculty members when writing project applications within the Erasmus+ program, the University of Sarajevo organized a series of info meetings. The first such meeting had taken place on 9 April 2014, when Mr. Phillipe Ruffio, a representative of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) outlined general principles for participating in Erasmus+ program. The second info meeting on Erasmus + program was in the University of Sarajevo’s Rectorate on Tuesday, 11 November 2014. When Mssrs. Franco Burgio, Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency Director and Suad Muhibic, BH National Tempus Office Director presented actions available for BiH in the new Erasmus+ and all related information.
 
The third meeting on Erasmus + on the topic “Opportunities in the Higher Education” took place in the UNSA Rectorate on 21 November 2014. The speaker at the event was Mr. Suad Muhibic, National Erasmus+ Office Director, preceded by welcome addresses by UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahic, Dr.h.c. and UNSA Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Faruk Mekic. Mr. Muhibic presented the information about Erasmus+ actions that are allowed for BH participations, as well as running competition calls and previously approved Tempus project.

Erasmus + is the new EU program for education, training, youth and sport, which replaced the seven existing programs: Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Comenius and Grundtvig), Youth in Action, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink and the Cooperation program with industrialized countries. The Erasmus + program will last seven years - from 2014 to 2020.
The University of Sarajevo is among the higher education institutions from partner countries neighboring the EU: Western Balkans, along with Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia.

The following actions are available in the new Erasmus + program:
1. Key Action 1: joint master programs: coordinated only by a country from the program countries group, yet partner countries can be consortium members (corresponding to the former Erasmus Mundus program Action 1).
2. Key Action 1: international credit mobility (corresponding to the former Erasmus Mundus Action 2): the applicants from the Programme countries category. This category includes 28 EU countries + Macedonia, Turkey, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland. The BH institutions can be a partner in the project consortium.
3. Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and exchange of good practice: Capacity Building in Higher Education: the BH institutions may apply or be a partner in a project consortium (corresponding to the former Tempus program).
4. Key Action 2: Knowledge Alliances: coordinated only by a country from the program countries group, yet partner countries can be a consortium member, with a limited budget if their participation significantly contributes to the project.
5. Key action 2: Sectoral Skills Alliances: coordinated only by a country from the program countries group, yet the partner country can be a consortium member if their participation significantly contributes to the project
6. Key Action 2: Strategic Partnerships, coordinated only by a country from the program countries group, yet partner countries can be consortium members if their participation significantly contributes to the project,
7. Key Activity 3: Jean Monnet projects of higher education institutions and organizations in the European studies field. BH institutions may apply or be a project consortium partner
