Second Bosnian-Herzegovinian Congress in Slavic Studies
(Sarajevo, 28–30 May 2015)
We have the honor to invite you to participate in
the Second Bosnian-Herzegovinian
Congress in Slavic Studies to be
held at theFaculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, which is a co-organizer of the Congress, from 28 to 30 May 2015. By organizing
this congress, the Slavic Committee
intends to continue, in a four-year cycle with the international Slavic
gathering in BH, which we started with the First BH Congress in Slavic Studies
held also at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo from 26 to 28
May 2011, with the participation of more than 200 Slavicists from 20 countries of
the world.
The
thematic framework of the
Congress covers issues
in the field of linguistics and issues
in the field of literary and cultural studies. In choosing issues in the field of literary and cultural studies, along with an
appropriate comprehensiveness and topicality of all themes offered, we were also guided by
the intention to appropriately mark anniversaries
significant for the whole of
Bosnian-Herzegovinian culture, such as the 120th anniversary of the publication of the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian novel
Bez nade (1895) by Osman – Aziz, the authorial duo which consisted of
Osman Nuri Hadzic (1869–1937) and Ivan Milicevic (1868–1950),
and the anniversaries of the
deaths of particularly important
BH authors, such as
Musa Cazim Catic (1878–1915),
Antun Branko Šimic (1898–1925) and Ivo Andric (1892–1975).
The Congress’ working languages are all Slavic
and English.
The subject of paper to be presented at the
Congress containing an abstract (up to 1800 characters), in English and one of
Slavic languages, should be sent with the filled in application form at the

The application deadline has been extended to 1 February

The reviewed papers presented at the Congress
shall be additional published in a Book of Proceedings.
