Shinji Watanabe, deputy director of the Department for Culture and overseas PR at the Secretariat of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Mrs. Kakuko Kotaka, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina visited UNSA on Thursday 22 January 2015, where they had a meeting met with Rector Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahic, HonDSc and Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ugo Vlaisavljevic.
At the meeting, they discussed the successful cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Embassy of Japan in BiH, emphasized the great importance of the Japanese language course, which is in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy, the University of Sarajevo implements from the 2013/2014 academic year.
In order to establish closer ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan, Embassy of Japan in BiH annually organizes at the University of Sarajevo and other BH universities presentation of scholarships offered by the Government of Japan. The Embassy of Japan in BiH participated in scholarships fairs that each year the Department for International Cooperation of the University of Sarajevo organizes.
