Opening the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo

The meeting between the Northwest Normal University Rector Prof. Dr. Li Zhongkui and University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahic, HonDSc. Took place in the UNSA Rectorate on Monday 30 March 2015.

During the meeting, the establishment of the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo and establishment of the academic cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Northwest Normal University was discussed.

The Confucius Institute Opening Ceremony will take place in the UNSA Center for Interdisciplinary Studies on, Thursday 2 April 2015 at 15:00.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo will be established in cooperation with the Northwest Normal University, with the aim of strengthening cultural and educational cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the People's Republic of China and promotion of the Chinese culture and language.

The meeting was attended by the following University of Sarajevo representatives: Prof. Dr. Ugo Vlaisavljevic, Prof. Dr. Faruk Mekic, Prof. Dr. Zehra Kreho, Prof. Dr. Dzenan Djonlagic, Samir Arnautovic, Student Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Sahrudin Sarajcic, Executive Director, Mr. Suvad Konakovic, University of Sarajevo Secretary General. The representatives of the Office for International Cooperation of North West Normal University that attended the meeting were  Mr. Quan Xiaohui, Director, and Ms. Sun Mei, Manager, Representatives of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in BiH were present too at the meeting  Mr. Lin Juncong, Attaché  and Ms. Li Yujie, Counselor.
