UNSA Senate Session Held

 

The 32 UNSA Senate Session Held 

 

The UNSA Senate held its regular 32nd session with 16 agenda items on 29 April 2015

At the Session, UNSA rector, Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahic, HonDSc appointed Prof. Dr. Samim Konjicija to the position of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Dean and Prof. Dr. Sead Redzepagic to the position of the Faculty of Dental Medicine Dean.

19 teachers from nine Faculties and two Academies were elected into higher academic titiles and approval given for three elections at two institutes .

The Senate decided to run competition calls for electing academic personnel at the following UNSA member institutions: Academy of Fine Arts, Faculty of Architecture, School of Economics and Business, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Criminalistics Criminology and Security Studies, Faculty of Political Sciences, Faculty of Health Studies, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Academy of Music, Faculty of Pedagogy, Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Administration.

The list of teachers at the Faculty of Philosophy’s third cycle of studies - doctoral studies in linguistics in 2014/2015 was approved and the amending  of the list of teachers for the second cycle of studies “European Studies” at the UNSA Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Sarajevo for the 2014/2015 academic year.

The election  equivalence was approved at the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies and approval given for the engagement of visiting professors at the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies, Faculty of Health Studies, Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

At the session, the Senate approved the proposed amendments to the curricula.

The UNSA Senate approved the final candidate list for admission at the third cycle of studies (postgraduate) at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The Senate adopted the UNSA Academic Calendar for the 2015/2016 academic year with the Calendar of Activities of the organization and implementation of study programs at the University of Sarajevo in the 2015/2016 academic  year.

Senators were informed about the instruction from the SC Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton for the drafting of the plan for student enrollment at accredited higher education institutions in Sarajevo Canton. It was concluded that the plan for the student enrolment in the first year of the first and second cycle of studies at the University of Sarajevo in the next academic year will be made in accordance with instruction.

In relation with the adoption of the Rulebook on the expenditure of extra-budgetary resources at the University of Sarajevo,  the Senate proposed six representatives from the Group of Science Arts to be the members of the Commission for drafting the Regulations on the expenditure of extra-budgetary resources at the University of Sarajevo.

At the session, the Senate accepted the opinion of the Committee on Legal Issues related to the Letter of the SC Ministry of Education, Science and Youth for carrying out the procedure of amending the UNSA Statute.

As proposed by the Committee for Sports and Physical Education, the Senate approved questionnaires for analysis of sport and physical education at UNSA Faculties and Academies.

The Senate approved the change of a member in the Committee for the library and information system.

Within item “International cooperation”, the Senate approved signing of the following agreements:

•    Protocol on the exchange under the MEVLANA between the University of Sarajevo and the University of Marmara, Turkey,
•    Agreement on Cooperation between the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Forestry and the University of Tuscia in Viterbo, Italy,
•    Agreement on Cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Northwest Normal University in  China.

Senators were informed about the UNIADRION roundtable discussion to be held at the University of Sarajevo on 7 and 8 May 2015, as well as about the Fifth International Congress “Islamic civilization in the Balkans” organized by the Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) and the University of Sarajevo in Sarajevo from 21 to 23 May 2015.

The Senate adopted the report of the University Publishing Council and approved one publication as a university release.

The Senate adopted the report of the Commission for the recognition of foreign higher education qualifications.

The Senate was informed about the 60th Anniversary of the Music Academy that will be marked by a number of special programs. The event is scheduled to take place on 20 May 2015.
