The IEEE Student Branch “BeENG”

The IEEE Student Branch (IEEE B & H SB) organizes an initiative for the student working visits project to reputable companies. The project named “beENG” will be active from 15 August to 15 October.

The Student Branch operates within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and it is organized in several branches companies of different professional fields of action:
•    PES (Power & Energy Society),
•    IAS (Industry Application Society),
•    ComSoc (Communication Society).
•   
This year’s beENG aims to enable students more working visit, which depends mostly on the companies that agreed to take part in the project.

The idea for the beENG project (Be Engineer) resulted from the lack of practical teaching at all University of Sarajevo Faculties. This lack prevented students from gaining the experience from the real business environment. We believe that this should be changed and this project is an attempt to make a turn toward education that relies on cooperation with companies, which provides education with the practical application.

Companies that support the project are Elektroprivreda BiH as a gold partner and a company that has received the most visits and gave the largest number of working days, Elektroprenos BiH, BH Telecom, TEO - Tvornica elektro opreme, Exellent, Energoinvest, New Technology, Atlantbh, QSS- the software technology company.
