The 38th UNSA Senate Session

The UNSA Senate held its regular 38th session on 26 November 2015.

At the session, it was decided to confer the honorary title of UNSA Professor Emeritus for year 2015 upon retired full professors from with six Academy and six Faculties.

Election into academic titles for 22 teachers with fourteen UNSA Faculties and one Academy was performed. Prof. Dr. Suad Habes, Prof. Dr. Azra Alajbegovic, Prof. Dr. Tidza Muhic-Sarac were elected into the academic title of full professors.

The Senate decided to announce a call for election of academic and scientific staff at School of Economics and Business, Faculties of Electrical Engineering, Islamic Studies, Sports and Physical Education, Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Agriculture.

The Senate approved the engagement of academic personnel and visiting professors at the Faculties of Architecture, Philosophy and the Faculty of Forestry.

The Senate gave its consent to the amendment of the Teaching Plan (with the list of teachers) for the first and second cycles of studies at the University of Sarajevo for the 2015/2016 academic year at the Faculties of Philosophy and Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

At the session, Decisions were made for 26 PhD candidates at five University of Sarajevo Faculties.

Under the item “Curricula Approving”, the Senate approved two reports, two amendments and two changes in curricula.

The approval was also granted to cal for enrolment of candidates in five PhD studies.

The Senate approved the final list of candidates for enrolment into the third cycle of studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo in the 2015/2016 academic year.

The Senate approved the final candidate list for enrolling in PhD studies at the Academy of Music in 2015/2016 academic year.

The Senate was informed about the undertaken activities regarding the implementation of the University of Sarajevo University Library Project. Senators received information items presenting them the status of waiting for the official approval of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to publish an international tender for selecting the project chief designer. The approval’s body of text was in detail composed with the Saudi Fund for Development. The public procurement procedure for contractors who will demolish the existing buildings at the proposed location is ongoing.


The Senate approved, within the item “International cooperation”, the following:
•    Extension of the Cooperation Agreement between the Julius Maximillians University of Wurzburg (Germany) and the University of Sarajevo
•    Signing of an Agreement on Cooperation between the University of Craiova (Romania) and the University of Sarajevo.


The Senate adopted the report by the University Publishing Council and approved five books to be issued as university publications.

The Senate also adopted the Report by Commission for the Recognition of Foreign Higher Education Qualifications.
