Scholarship awarding ceremony from the Fund “Academician Edhem Camo” whose goal is to provide support to students in scientific, research and artistic activities, for the 2015/2016 academic year, took place at the University of Sarajevo on Thursday, 16 June 2016.
26 students for 12 individual/group projects received cash awards from the Fund. UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Muharem Avdispahic, HonDSc, handed them certificates. UNSA Vice-Rectors, Prof. Dr. Zehra Kreho and Prof. Dr. Faruk Mekic were also present at the ceremony.
“The creative student engagement is important for further university and social development” said Rector Avdispahic. He also reminded that the University, according to the Statute, has two scholarship funds for students: “Suada Dilberovic” and “Academician Edhem Camo” Funds.
“The funds from the “Academician Edhem Camo“ Fund will be allocated for the development of scientific, research and artistic activities. The special emphasis is placed on works/projects that will strengthen the University’s academic values and works/projects that will internationally promote the University” said Rector Avdispahic. He also said that at the firs competition call 9 projects by 17 authors had been selected and that UNSA Senate had endorsed further 12 projects (7 individual and 5 group ones) by 26 authors at the second call. “Those 43 young people will spend time up to the beginning of following academic year working on projects that have been proposed” said Rector Avdispahic and wished them good luck.
