The Constitutive Session of UNSA Council
for Science and the Arts Held
The constitutive session of the University of Sarajevo Council for Science and the Arts, was held on Tuesday, 31 January 2017. The Rules of Procedure for the Council for Science and the Arts were adopted at session and chairman appointed. To the position of Council’s chairman, academician Dejan Milosevic was appointed and to the position of deputy, Dr. Ivan Cavlovic, professor emeritus.
The Council has nine members - one University representative, six representatives of the Faculties/Academies/Institutes, a student representative and a representative of the Steering Committee:
• Academician Dejan Milosevic, representative of the Natural, Mathematics and Biotechnical sciences
• Academician Muris Cicic, representative of the Social Sciences Group
• Academician Branislav Perunicic, professor emeritus, representative of the Technical Sciences Group
• Dr. Ivan Cavlovic, professor emeritus, representative of the Arts Group,
• Dr. Elias Tauber, representative of the University of Sarajevo,
• Doz. Dr. Semir Vranic, representative of the Medical Sciences Group,
• Steering Committee Chairman
• Lejla Lasic, the third cycle of studies student, representative of the UNSA Students’ Parliament
• Prof. Dr. Izet Radjo, UNSA Vice-Rector, representative of the Humanities.
The Council for Science and Arts is a professional and advisory body of the University Senate with following responsibilities:
• Proposing to the Senate a strategy for the development and promotion of arts and sciences at the University of Sarajevo;
• Discussing research projects at public tenders which are administered through the University of Sarajevo;
• Giving its opinion on the allocation of extra-budgetary revenues from scientific and artistic activities;
• Performing other tasks in the field of scientific research and arts as given by the Senate.
