Cooperation between the UNSA and Turkish Embassy
H.E. Haldun Koc, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the University of Sarajevo where he was received by Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Skrijelj and Vice-Rectors - Prof. Drs. Aleksandra Nikolic, International Cooperation, Aida Hodzic, Academic and Student Affairs, Maida Cohodar Husic, Quality and Zeljko Sain, Finances.
During the meeting, openness to the continuation of the successful cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina was expressed and realization and intensification of cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and Turkish universities discussed - academic and cultural cooperation.
During the first official visit of H.E. Ambassador Koc to the University of Sarajevo, Rector Skrijelj presented the history and development of the University of Sarajevo, emphasizing the comprehensiveness of the University. When speaking about international cooperation University, Rector Skrijelj stated that the University of Sarajevo has agreements on academic cooperation signed with thirteen Turkish universities and expressed the willingness to cooperate and provide support to students from Turkey who want to study at the University of Sarajevo.
“One of the opportunities for the Sarajevo Canton Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s progress is the development of higher education” said Rector Skrijelj.
Both sides expressed interest to promote cooperation in the field of science, research and cooperation that which would be implemented through the exchange of students and faculty. Discussions of possibilities for improving the study at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the UNSA Faculty of Philosophy received special attention.
Ambassador Koc expressed readiness for continuing the successful cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in BiH and stressed that higher education is an area that will be in future one of the most important aspects of cooperation between our two countries.
