H. E. Nicola Minasi, Italian Ambassador in BiH, visited the University of Sarajevo on Friday 28 April 2017, where he met with Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Skrijelj, Vice-Rector, Prof. Dr. Zeljko Sain and director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies Prof. Dr. Melika Husic-Mehmedovic.

Within His Excellency’s first visit to the University of Sarajevo, Rector Skrijelj, with words of welcome, emphasized the importance of improving and strengthening the inter-university cooperation with particular reference to the successful cooperation between Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of higher education and research.

With expressed openness to the continuation of the successful cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the meeting the implementation and intensification of cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the University of the Republic of Italy was discussed, and possible modalities of academic and cultural cooperation considered. At the meeting, the cooperation of the University of Sarajevo and the University of Bologna was discussed, and special attention paid to the European Regional Master's Degree in Human Rights and Democracy in South East Europe (ERMA).
