“Library and information services in higher education libraries as a support for learning and participation of students with disabilities”

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the realization of a round table “Library and information services in higher education libraries as a support for learning and participation of students with disabilities”. The round table will take place at the University of Sarajevo Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (Zmaja od Bosne, Campus) on 6 July 2017 at 11:00.

The round table “Library and information services in higher education libraries as a support for learning and participation of students with disabilities” is the result of cooperation of a CBHE projects School-to-Work Transition for Higher education students with disabilities in Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro (Trans2Work), and Library Network Support Services: Modernising libraries in Western Balkan countries through staff development and reforming library services (LNSS), in which the University of Sarajevo participates.

The purpose of the meeting is:
•    Presentation of Trans2Work and LNSS projects to academic staff, librarians, students, educational authorities, non-governmental sector and the media representatives;
•    Raising awareness of information professionals on the needs of people with disabilities, with the aim of designing and supplying appropriate library and information services and services;
•    Exchange of experience in providing information services to users with disabilities;
•    informing those present about the mobility of students with disabilities in order to develop and improve “soft” skills;
•    Pointing to the importance of assistive technology in the process of learning and participation of students with disabilities.
