Migrations and role of universities – thinking about internationalization process
With the Patronage of Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministers in cooperation with Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) Regional Committee of Rectors’ University of Lazio (CRUL) and Rectors’ Committee of Pontifical University of Rome (CRUPR), 14th Rectors' Conference was held on 23 June 2017 in Rome, on the occassion of 60th anniversary of Treaties of Rome. The main topic of the Conference was „ European Union: The Role of University cooperation promoting peace and solidarity“. As representative of the University of Sarajevo was Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić, vice-rector for international relations, and there were also representatives of universities from Italy, France, Cyprus, Malta, Slovenia, Austria, Serbia, Jordan, Greece, Romania, Albania, USA and other countries from all over the world.
Prof. Giuseppe Novelli, rector of University Roma Tor Vergata, Mr. Angelino Alfano, minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Msg. Lorenzo Leuzzi, auxiliary Bishop of Rome, Prof. Marco Mancini, head of the Department of Higher Education and Research at MIUR, Prof. Gaetano Manfredi, president of the Italian Conference of University Rectors, and Prof. Mauro Mantovani, president Pontifical Rectors’ Universities Conference opened the Conference and welcomed guests. Vice-rector Nikolić held the presentation on the topic „Migration, Integration, Peace – University perspective and role“ , within which she spoke about migration crisis, inclusion of migrants, as well as about activities which University of Sarajevo has.
