The Culture and Education Attaché at US Embassy in BiH, Drew Giblin and the Cultural and Educational Adviser, Ms. Elizabeth Delilc, visited the UNSA Rectorate on Thursday, 20 July 2017. They were recieved by Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Skrijelj and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolic.
The meeting focused on the current situation in the field of higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on the possibilities of enhancing cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the US Embassy in BiH. It was pointed out that this meeting continues the successful cooperation that lasts over 20 years, which has been realized through the strengthening of links between the University of Sarajevo and the universities in the USA, the Fulbright Exchange Program and other programs.
Rector Skrijelj, after welcoming the representatives of the US Embassy, reminded that the University of Sarajevo is the only public university in the Canton of Sarajevo and the largest, oldest and best ranked university in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also expresed gratitude for the long-term cooperation and support that the Embassy provides to the University. He particularly referred to the jointly realized projects, and emphasized the importance of Fulbright scholarships that directly support the academic community.
Mr. Drew Giblin, Culture and Education Attaché at the US Embassy, expressed satisfaction with the current and future cooperation, stressing that quality education at all levels is a key element for the success and development of a country.
