Twenty-eight young people from five BH towns at Networks spent three days designing solutions for the EYOF 2019 mascot.
On the first day, all EYOF representatives attended the presentation of the EYOF 2019 project, and then mentors presented the steps from the sketch to the conceptual design itself. Participants are also familiarized with all previous Olympic mascots, as well as with the EYOF 2019graphic standards, which must be followed. It was a great honor for both participants and organizers to meet Zlatko Brodic - the creator of the ZOI '84 mascot. He shared his experience during the production of Vucko and expressed his desire to create a victorious mascot for EYOF 2019.
A Sarajevo team, who worked on creating a mascot of a Tornjak dog mascot, says they have applied for this competition primarily because of its importance for our country. “The mutual idea of my sister and me was a Tornjak dog as the only autochthonous breed of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We believe that this would be an ideal mascot of EYOF because of the association of dogs with people and their attachment to children, as well as because this is a mountain dog” they stressed.
On the second day, competitors worked in teams or individually on drawings of their own mascot design solutions, so that these solutions were ready for the final day, when they would be presented to the expert jury.
On the last day, the contestants worked on perfecting their ideas, as well as creating a presentation to present the same jury. The expert jury was comprised of representatives of the cities of Sarajevo and east Sarajevo, Universities of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, as well as representatives of Networks and EYOF 2019. The criteria for the selection of mascots were originality of the idea, presentation, and final appearance of the mascot.
From fifteen design ideas for the EYOF 2019 mascot, the jury should only choose the best three, the winner of which will be decided by the audience on 20 October through social networks Facebook and Instagram.
